The COMSATS University Islamabad or CUI, previously known as COMSATS Institute of Information Technology is a top public university located in Islamabad city of Pakistan; it sub –campuses are located in the cities of Abbottabad, Attock, Vehari, Lahore, Wah and Sahiwal, plus CUI is having a virtual Campus Initially it was established in 1998 by the Commission on Science and Technology for Sustainable Development in the South (COMSATS) and charter was granted in 2000. In 2018 COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT) was transformed into a full fledged university as CUI, COMSATS University Islamabad.
COMSATS is ranking among top Asian Universities by QS ranking; and ranked top-most University in Computer Sciences and IT category nationally according to NatureIndex. CUI is a member of Association of Commonwealth Universities. ] It has also gained a place to be the country’s first ever university to support and promote entrepreneurship and innovation in its academic environment.
