Rawalpindi Medical Institution is a Pakistani state university in Rawalpindi, Punjab. Rawalpindi Medical College, the university’s forerunner, was founded in 1974. It was formerly associated with Pakistan’s University of the Punjab in Lahore. It was connected with the University of Health Sciences in Lahore in 2003. The Government of Punjab, Pakistan, promoted this college to university level in May 2017.

At its affiliated teaching hospitals, the university offers undergraduate MBBS and BSC Allied Health degrees, as well as postgraduate residency and fellowship programmes. For undergraduate and postgraduate medical education and training, it is connected with three public sector teaching hospitals

  • Holy Family Hospital
  • Benazir Bhutto Hospital
  • DHQ Hospital- Rawalpindi.

It is also included in the list of recognised universities and degree-granting institutions.

University has about faculty of 392 for 3,304 students. Also the university has about more than 12,000 alumni. Rawalpindi Medical University students have excelled not only academically, but also in extracurricular activities, bringing honour to the university. A large number of outstanding athletes, debaters, poets, writers, and artists have represented the university by winning medals, colours, and trophies.
