Faisalabad Medical University is a 158-acre (0.64 km2) campus on Sargodha Road in Faisalabad, Pakistan. It was founded in 1973. Allied Hospital, District Headquarters Hospital, and Government General Hospital Ghulam Muhammad Abad Faisalabad are teaching hospitals connected with the university. Dr. Zafar Chaudhry, a laparoscopic surgeon, is the company’s CEO. In 1978, the first class of M.B.B.S. graduates graduated.
The construction of additional buildings, labs, and the teaching hospital was completed in 1982 with a government grant of Rs. 460 million. The General Medical Council in London, England, recognises FMU, and it is listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools (it was also listed in the now discontinued International Medical Education Directory).
It is also on the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan’s list of recognised universities and degree-awarding institutions. Boys and girls have distinct facilities at Faisalabad Medical University. The hostels are among the best in the Punjab province, with amenities unavailable in any other hostel in the state. University has faculty of about 173 for 1450 students.
