The Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) is a public medical university in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan’s urban metropolitan area. It was founded in 1945 by Sir Hugh Dow, the Governor of Sindh at the time.
Dow Medical College and Dow International Medical College are two health sciences undergraduate research institutes of the university. The institution also has a strong postgraduate studies department that oversees the university’s many basic medical sciences and clinical sciences programmes.
The Dow Medical College was founded in 1945 and is noted for its strong emphasis on economics, biomedical, health, and medical research programmes. In 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014, HEC named it among the top medical schools.
