The Karachi American Society School was established in 1952 with sponsorship from the United States government. The International School of Karachi was its previous name. It is regarded as a Karachi elite school. The school increased its offerings in August 2017 by establishing Karachi American College.
The Karachi American School is an autonomous, coeducational day school that provides an educational program for children of various nationalities from kindergarten to grade 12. The school year is divided into two semesters, which run from August 9 to December 22 and January 11 to May 30 respectively. Due to limited space, prospective students are encouraged to apply for admission as soon as possible after arriving in Karachi.
The school is located on around 10 acres of land.
