Formerly known as the Institute of Business Technology, it was upgraded to the rank of the university in May 2017 by legislation passed by the Provincial Sindh Assembly as a judicial Act of Sindh. The Institute of Business and Technology Karachi (BIZTEK) is a private, non-profit higher education institution in Pakistan. BIZTEK was founded in 2001.
