Course Brief:

For doctors and surgeons, the doctor of medical degree is required. Doctor of medical degree is known as MBBS in Pakistan (bachelors of medicine and bachelors of surgery). It takes 5 to 6 years to complete the degree, and in order to begin practising medicine, the student must obtain a licence from the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC). UHS University of Health Sciences and HEC Higher Education Commission publish the MBBS programme. Many universities, colleges, and DAIs offer degrees in medicine and surgery. These are acknowledged by PMDC, the council that oversees all issues relating to medical schools and degrees.

After five years of education, a basic medical degree is granted. Basic scientific courses are studied for the first two years, while clinical internships and courses in medicine and surgery are studied for the following three years.
